About This Project

In 2016 Woodland Trust invited Lyrix Organix to design and deliver a cross-disciplinary event that brought together environmentalists, academics and artists. The objective was to deliver a think tank-style conference that explored ways to engage the public in 2017’s Tree Charter.

The event at Talton Lodge was a mini-festival with an invited audience that featured talks, debates, workshops, live music and art installations in woodland areas. This included accommodation and logistical event management. A series of interviews were also released in collaboration with Broken Toy Films via Woodland Trust.

The artistic centrepiece of the event was a commissioned storytelling walk by Rachel Rose Reid that included live music and art installations that responded to the woodland environment.

Artists included:

Manu Delago (Hang player; Bjork/Anoushka Shankar) | Rachel Rose Reid | Jally Kebba Susso (kora) | John Fairhurst
